• Socializing Will Help Improve your Personal Life

Studies have shown that people that are more actively involved with positive influences can live longer. These people also feel healthier. Studies shows that people who socialize do not get as sick often as those who do not.

People who are active, do not have time to worry about tomorrow, or yesterday. They live for the day that they are in now and that’s it. Worrying too much is not good for the soul or mind. We have many problems in life that we cannot change, therefore we need to learn how to change what we can and leave the rest alone. Depression is one of the leading problems today and mostly because of the reasons named. To live for a better tomorrow you have to first learn how to live for today.

What are some of the ways I can get active?
There are many ways to become active – instead of sitting in the house, go out and make new friends. Maybe visit your local coffee shops. You may want to visit old friends you haven’t seen in a while.

There are many ways to get active. We have gyms. Visit the gym, start working out and intermingle with people. The idea of socializing is to meet new people and do things that you wouldn’t do normally.

How would I make new friends?
You can go anywhere to make new friends. You can make new friends at stores. You can visit a religious sector and make new acquaintances. In time, they may become your best friend. There you can meet new people, get involved with people and then you will have plenty of things to keep you busy. Perhaps you can volunteer at your library, hospital, or other area around town. Here you will become actively involved with your community as you meet new people.

How will becoming more active help me to improve my personal life?
When you are more active you always feel better because you are doing something good. You are not wasting time harboring over mistakes, or other things that stress you. Instead of worrying about tomorrow or yesterday, you are spending your time wisely. Many people sit around all day sweating bills. If you are late with your bills, set up a budget, get on track and stop allowing bills take over your life. You will benefit from becoming active, since the bills will not be on your mind until they arrive in the mail.

The more active you are, the more you will feel the difference, since you start to feel better about yourself. So no matter how you are feeling, you need to get out and enjoy life while you can. It’s easy to pick up the phone and call a friend.

Call someone and invite him or her to shop with you. Invite them to come have coffee with you. Better yet, invite them to walk in the park with you. It’s your call. You can do anything you want if you put your mind to it.

Sitting down on life is the process of heading to the grave. Take action now and socialize today. Be sure to keep your social friends on a positive note. In short, only choose people who will build you up instead of tearing you down.

  • The tell-tale symptoms of depression

People who may be suffering from depression or manic disorders actually exhibit or show each and every kind of symptom of depression that doctors will tell you that depressed people have. Sometimes it’s actually quite easy to overlook such symptoms and not be able to help one’s self or others who are suffering from depression for that matter.

    Advertisements

There are actually a lot of symptoms of depression that depressed people may actually posses but they don’t have to suffer from each and every one of them before you actually help them get diagnosed and be treated for this illness. Also, since symptoms of depression actually vary, the time of their “attacks” varies as well.

Here are some common examples of symptoms of depression:

Prolonged period of sadness or not feeling “up to it”: people who are always feeling not in the mood, who’d rather mope around the house and feel sorry for one’s self is the best example for this symptom of depression.

Feels hopeless, perennial pessimist: speaking of feeling sorry for one’s self, another common symptom of depression is when a person actually feels like he/she has nothing to look forward to in his or her life. As for being the perennial pessimist, those who show this symptom of depression are usually very negative about things, again, the feeling of hopelessness comes in to mind.

Guilt-driven, loss of self-worth and helplessness: other symptoms of depression that can be easily seen on people who prefer to mope around all day long are these. Whenever a person feels so guilty over something, that actually makes one a very sad person who feels like he or she doesn’t deserve to be happy. Thus, the loss of self-worth, if that person feels like he or she isn’t worthy of being happy or enjoying one’s self then that’s clear tell-tale symptom of depression. Helplessness also contribute to being depressed, when assuming that things won’t simply go your way, it’s already a clear saying that you have absolutely no hope in your body at all.

Isn’t interested in finding or taking pleasure: just dropping the hobbies as well as the other things that one used to enjoy, this tell-tale symptom of depression just shows how depressed a person can be, if one is actually too sad to take pleasure even in the very things that one loves then that person is seriously lacking something, rather, that person might well have caught the depression bug.

Fatigue, always tired: people suffering from depression, since they’ve lost whatever interest in life that they may have had before are actually lacking of physical energy at all times, if one would prefer to just mope around, probably won’t even eat not get enough sleep, a depressed person may well be on their way to not just a mental illness but depression can actually be terrible for one’s physical health as well.

Having trouble concentrating, having bad memory and is indecisive: a person who is suffering from depression easily gives away this tell-tale symptom of depression. Wherein one’s lack of interest with regards to the outside world or for just about anything for that matter can lead to that person’s inability to lose track of things and actually not be able to remember things that happened or what other people said. Lack of interest actually makes depressed people very inattentive.

There are actually more symptoms of depression that can actually help you see if a person (or you) needs to be brought to the doctor to get some help when it comes to depression: lacking sleep, sleeping too much or waking up at wee hours of the morning are all symptoms of depression (if it happens on a daily basis), appetite loss as well as eating too much may show one’s lack of enthusiasm for life. Be weary of sudden weight loss or weight gain in those around you. Being suicidal, talking about death, about wanting to die is another clear indication that that person is depressed. Being restless and irritable and physical symptoms that are usually brought about by poor mental health such as headaches, digestive disorders and various body pains.

  • Building Self Confidence

The very first step is to accept yourself – lovingly. No person in the world is perfect so why bother to shed tears over your imperfectness. This is how God wanted us to be – Imperfect! We might have something that someone else may lack and someone else might be endowed with the qualities, which we lack.

    Advertisements

This incompleteness makes us go out and seek companions who make us feel loved, wanted and complete. Oh what a great feeling! Would we experience it if we were inside the cocoon of our perfection? Never! So accept yourself the way you are. It will free your mind of a heavy baggage of unnecessary worries. You will instantly feel light and cheerful.

  • Improving the Quality of your personal life

Is your personal life in an uproar, how is your self esteem?

Everyone always has room for improvement; yet, some of us need more than others do.

    Advertisements

There are ways to improve yourself once you ask yourself “what do I need to do to improve.” Maybe sitting down and writing a list of things that you don’t like about yourself could help. Make sure you prioritize them making the most important one on top and the less important on the bottom. Everyday work on this list checking off each one as you feel it is getting better. Remember don’t stop improving them just because you’ve put a check beside it. It takes time to make changes but you can do it.

Are you working full or part time, if not volunteer if need be? Get busy and don’t just lie around the house doing nothing. Keeping busy and helping others always helps. By helping others, you learn that someone else in the world has it worse than you do. A job always helps especially if you are stressed out about paying a bill and there is no money to pay. Every dollar you make is one dollar more than you had yesterday.

Volunteer to work at the library a couple of hours a day or maybe just one day a week. The nearest hospital is probably in need of a volunteer if nothing just to talk to the ones that are alone and no one comes to see them. Helping others always makes you feel better especially if you can see they enjoyed or benefited from it.

Take a little time out of each day for yourself. You can’t be any good to other people if you don’t take care of yourself. Draw a bathtub of bubbles and relax, go for a walk alone or maybe go to the library and read, bring a book home to read and relax. A little something for yourself each day really helps to relax you and it can make you feel better.

How about doing a little exercising; if you’re not already doing it try it and see how it helps relieve stress. After a while, you’ll notice how you will look forward to exercising alone or with a friend. If you walk with a friend don’t talk about your problems, keep the pace up and talk about the weather or maybe something you’re going to do for your tomorrow.

Eventually you’ll notice how much better you feel getting out and taking care of yourself.

Do you watch much TV? Sometimes the news can make a person depressed but then again it can be educational and give you something to discuss with friends or family. Watch the weather and when you’re walking talk about what is supposed to happen tomorrow; will it rain or snow. The news makes a good conversation when talking to other people.

Go out and visit someone once a week maybe. Get out of the house and be with a friend other than cleaning house when you’re at home. If you don’t have many friends go make some new ones. Meeting friends is something you can do when you’re volunteering your time; when at the library talk to the librarian when you are checking out that book. New friends can be anywhere if you’re willing to talk. Don’t be afraid if you don’t make a new one every time you talk to someone; just is, yourself and someone else will be there to be the friend you need or want in your life.

Remember life is short, if you need a little improvement here and there, that’s okay. No one is perfect and you can only change the quality of life you have.

  • Discover a tried and tested way for you to achieve happiness

Imagine being happy all the time. How would your life be different if you were happy all the time?

    Advertisements

All of us want to be happy. In fact in most polls people say that they want peace and happiness more than anything else in the world. The problem is: most of us are looking in the wrong places.

But all has recently been revealed thanks to a multi-disciplinary team of six British specialists who span a variety of disciplines from psychology, psychotherapy to economics who embarked on an unusual social experiment.

    Their unusual challenge?

What does it take to make residents of a town happy?

During their experiment in Slough, a commuter belt town, twenty two miles from the centre of London they discovered 10 “seeds of happiness”.

Ten things which when you do them all regularly will not only improve your life in your community but will make you happy and contented.

    What are they?

    • Plant something and nurture it. When you water and feed plants they grow. When you water and feed the seeds of your interest – they grow.

    • At the end of each day stop and think how fortunate you are. Think of five things in your life that you are grateful for.

    • Make time to talk to your partner. Every week sit down for at least an hour and talk with your partner or someone you love. That’s one hour without answering the phone or watching TV or listening to music. One undisrupted hour with your loved one.

    • Make that phone call that you keep promising yourself you will make. Contact the friend with whom you haven’t spoken for a while.

    • Treat yourself. Give yourself a treat every day and take the time to really enjoy it. Be good to yourself. This simple act breeds self confidence, positivity, and happiness.

    • Have a good laugh at least once a day. Laughter helps to stimulate your immune system.

Research shows that laughter is important for people who survive a heart attack. It has been found that people are less likely to have a second attack, need less medication and have lower blood pressure if they allow themselves to see and laugh at humorous situations each day.

    • Exercise. Make the effort to walk, run, jog, swim, whatever for half an hour three times a week. Guaranteed to reduce stress and make you feel good.

    • Every day smile at and/or say hello to a stranger. Smiling is not only good for the person receiving it also makes you feel good too.

    • How long do you spend watching TV? Research show that too much TV actually causes unhappiness. So make an effort to cut your viewing time by half.

    • Every Day do a good turn for someone.

    Now it’s down to you.

    OUR CHALLENGE

Implement the 10 seeds of happiness into your life for two months and see the difference it makes.

    It works.
