• Adding 2+2 will always gives you 4 (if we don’t consider the concept of “2+2 isn’t 4“), no matter where you are. Whom you follow gives you exactly what he has right now, isn’t it? But still we forget to remember this fact and go ahead with what “people say”.

After the completion of the matric grade, many of my friends went for non-med, med and some were with me in commerce. Many of my friends jumped instantly from med to non-med and some to commerce, while some changed to medical.

Why did they do so? Why did they change their stream suddenly? Because “people said so” and they “heard so”.

In our life, we too sometimes follow some people, including me.

But before deciding to follow that person, we must decide whether that person has or living the life that we want to have and live? If yes, don’t look back. If no, look here and there, of course for options.

You are following a doctor, but you want to have a lot of time in your lifestyle. Do you think you have chosen the right person (profession) to follow?

You are following a programmer, but you want to be an athlete because of the numerous gold medals you have received for your outstanding performances. Do you think you are going for the right path?

Lets get to the minute thing of it. You want to buy a car and you go and discuss this with a colleague of yours who has a bike. Will you follow his suggestions? I think all he can suggest you is: “Cars are more uncomfortable, you have to drive them carefully and they can’t go through small lanes.”

You are in a job and you want to start another part time business along with it. You discuss this with your colleague (who, of course owns all those things that you own). What do you think he is going to suggest you? I believe, he would say: “Come on, already we get tired with our job. Do you think you need to put up extra burden?”

So the next time you are going to follow someone’s suggestion or are following someone, think – is he having what I want to have in my life? Is he following my dreams?

    Follow wisely

  • It is said that mind is like a parachute, it works only when it is open. Isn’t it true?

You keep a bucket upside down in rain for as much time you want. It will never hold a single drop of water in it. But if you keep the same bucket in right position under a dripping tap, it will be full overnight. This shows the power of receivablility.

You learn more when you are open-minded, in the receivable mode.

But still many of us (including me) go to a state of non-receivability winning a trifle, popularly known as the “known-all” state, in which our mental thoughts run like “I know all”, “The person in front of me knows nothing.”

Well, but the really truth behind the scene is: When you “know all” you “know nothing”

And this same line takes me to another line which says: When you know more you come to know how much you know less

So, considering the above two lines, we can say that a wise person has room full to learn while the fool has nothing to learn (because he “knows all”)

At last, if the thought of “know all” ever stroke your mind, interpret as “know nothing” and be wise.

  • I went to an adventure camp organized by “I CAN DO IT”

I was in Yellow Belt then and had been learning martial arts for about three months.

The next morning came and it was time for some exercise (which was obviously optional). Me and some of the friends got ready for the exercise… and I was like “I’m a martial artist and I can do anything” my god, what a thinking that was… the typical “I know all” thinking, which kills many.

And today, being black belt, training a lot of students, I realize how much less I know.

Of course, you too might have experienced the same thing in your profession, work place or in personal life.

    So to conclude, remember:

“When you know more you come to know how much you know less.”

  • So I’m going for a quick flashback and remember the first day of my swimming class. I knew that I have learnt swimming, all that lacked was the practice part.

I always thought that I don’t need a mentor, but now I feel that everyone does, no matter who you are or become.

So I went for my first swim after 2 years and guess what I was not able to make it up to the opposite side. I had to stop in between to take breath and then a voice came “Manhar… come on… move”. To say the truth, I wasn’t able to reach the opposite side that day 😦

But yes, the words of the mentor “Manhar… come on… move” still knock in my head today whenever my head is inside the water. And I believe because of these words “come on”, “move” I’m able to swim like a pro and reach the opposite side of the pool within no time.

So why do we need a mentor?

To understand this we have to accept the fact that we believe what others say to us about ourselves. If someone says “You look horrible today” how much cautious we remain the whole day. And that same day, if someone says “You look great” we tend to accept his words.

So the work of a mentor is to say what we want to hear or rather what we should hear so that we can move on.

So to move on… choose your mentor… WISELY!!

  • So today, after around 2 years, I entered the swimming pool. I got support of the wall, pushed myself and there I went swimming and suddenly I came across the hard part when you need to breath in the air while swimming. It is hard because to inhale and exhale air while swimming, you need to be skillful and should have spent a lot of time in water.

Two years ago, I used to do 50 lengths in one go… and today, I was not even able to complete the second one! I was out of breath. I stopped and there came a loud voice “Manhar, move”. Definitely that was the voice of my swimming trainer and I realized that really “practice breeds perfection” and If you don’t practice a skill, you don’t have that skill at all.

I was watching my old memories of karate on my laptop where I came across a bunch of videos in which I’m jumping and flying like a pro.

I went to my karate class, tried to do the same again and to my surprise… It didn’t happen 😦

    Why so? No practice… simple

So, you got a skill and skill can bring success but before you need to make your skill better so practice to improve your skills because:

“If you don’t practice a skill, you don’t have that skill at all.”

  • “Past is history,

    Tomorrow is mystery.”

So lets talk about the mystery. Our life is like driving a car on highway at dark night. All you can see is a few meters ahead the car. Life unveils in the same way.

I got an animated pic in my inbox today, which shows the same phenomenon. I liked it very much so I decided to share it here with you.

    Here goes the pic.

  • Do you know What Really hurts me?

    Is that,

WE ALL (LOVERS/SOCIETY/PARENTS/EVERYONE) Think we are Fine.

we think we are All right,

    ‘n we are Really Happy.

It Really Hurts because Nothing Is All right.

Because despite of everything we think can make us forget our true nature,
We cannot get over the innate humane expression:LOVE

Yes,we are fighting against our very own true nature.
    We Wanna Live,

    We wanna Be Happy.

    But

We are scared of love so much,

That we Just CAN’T do what is right.

    Yes,we Know,

That each day glittering golds make us believe that everything is okay.

    But

    ‘someday’ is Not ‘Now’.

Now Everyone is yearning for love.
‘n everyone wants to go far in love.

‘but love is beyond reasons and logic,
and that’s why we are scared of love.

We all Look At each other ‘n Think That we are okay
It Hurts, That we Don’t see beyond illusions,
We don’t listen what words cannot express !!

How is it inside of us. Inside we are Dying.

  • I called up my friend, Gourav Singla, to know what was done in the class as I was absent because of heavy rain. And this is what he said, “Thank you Manhar, my speech was the best, which you helped me to write.” And I was like, “Really? (Not surprised for being the best but that I helped him) I don’t remember helping you out.”

Its amazing to hear “Thank you for helping me out” from someone.

I’ve been helping people around- counseling them, guiding them, motivating them, encouraging and uplifting them when they are down, all without expecting anything from them. That is why I believe, I relish these type of experiences very often.

The point I want to stress upon is… Do good deeds and you’ll reap good seeds, which when invested with hardwork and patience can create wonders.

    So remember: Action > Fruit

  • I was thinking to write a post today, then suddenly a concept about “globalization” came into my mind.

Relating to the ancient model of trade, I concluded that globalization, though might have eased the buying tradition but is the reason for a million problems in the world.

Then on second thought, I questioned “What if my concept, my thoughts about globalization are wrong?” then I decided to not publicise the article.

And what I learnt from this internal contradictory experience is that – we may have wrong thoughts running in our head (which everyone does) and these wrong thoughts are actually right to have.

Really, its good to have wrong those wrong thoughts in your mind. Don’t try to push them, because when you push, you pull. It’s okay to have them.

And surprisingly, this article may be one of those wrong thoughts of mine.

  • Well, I’m really tired but I can’t resist to share this secret to the world.

I was really frustrated, low on energy and was static… but a single event really changed all these negative symptoms to positive and that was attending my Martial arts class after a year.

According to me, all the problems come when our energy gets stuck, when the flow of energy in the body gets blocked.

It is a fact that a rechargeable battery’s life prolongs when it is charged only after its whole power is discharged.

Same goes with us, we are too like that rechargeable batteries, but we don’t need power to charge up, instead we require energy. Do you experience excitement and flow of energy after listening to a motivational speaker? That’s because he has transferred his energy to the audience. Have you experienced joy after sharing something with someone (even a stranger)? That’s because there is flow of energy. Flow of energy gives an elevated experience which can’t be explained in words… and that’s what you can experience in a Reiki session too.

But to live our life to the fullest, we should be ready to discharge our batteries completely and allow free flow of energy.

(Only for men) If you feel that you are frustrated, depressed, struck in the same position or that life can’t be better any more or any other such negative experience, just go out for an aggressive/ vigorous activity. Go for Martial arts class, go to gym, or any adventure, what ever it is it should be physically challenging (Consult your physician before going for any such physical activity) and you’ll definitely feel better.

To conclude, remember: “Discharge your batteries and live the life to the fullest.”
